The Davis Cup Africa Group III 2024, held in Abuja, Nigeria, from July 15 to 20, showcased six nations in a thrilling competition. Nigeria, Benin, Namibia, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Zimbabwe battled in a single pool format, aiming for promotion to the 2025 World Group II play-offs.
Three teams secured their spots in the 2025 World Group II play-offs: Namibia, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe.
Namibia claimed the top position after a stellar performance, opening with a 2-1 victory over Ghana. They continued their winning streak with a 3-0 triumph over Nigeria, Benin, and Côte d’Ivoire, despite a 1-2 loss to Zimbabwe.
As the host nation, Nigeria finished second. They started strong with a 2-1 victory over Zimbabwe and continued to dominate with 3-0 wins against Côte d’Ivoire and Benin, a 2-1 victory over Ghana, and a single defeat to Namibia (0-3).
Zimbabwe also secured promotion with four victories, defeating Côte d’Ivoire 3-0, Ghana 2-1, Benin 2-1, and Namibia 2-1, with their only loss coming against Nigeria (1-2).
Benin managed to secure their place in the Davis Cup Group III for 2025 with two victories over Côte d’Ivoire (2-1) and Ghana (3-0). However, Ghana has been relegated after recording only one victory over Côte d’Ivoire (3-0) and Côte d’Ivoire has also been relegated without securing any victories.
