It is with great sadness that the Confederation of African Tennis announces the passing of Joseph Oyebog, Sr on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, in Cameroon.
A former Davis Cup player for his country, Joseph Oyebog dedicated his life to the development of tennis and the empowerment of young people in Africa. He was the founder of the Oyebog Tennis Academy (OTA), which became a leading centre for tennis and education in Cameroon.
Through his vision and tireless efforts, thousands of children had access to training, discipline, and hope for a better future.
Joseph’s passion, generosity, and commitment to African youth made a lasting impact. His legacy will live on through the academy he built and the many lives he touched.
The Confederation of African Tennis extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the entire OTA community.
May he rest in peace.
