Postponement of the African 14&U Circuit Tournaments in Algiers
originally scheduled from 25th January to 1st February 2026
New dates: 8 – 15 February 2026
Following a formal request received from the Algerian Tennis Federation, the Confederation of African Tennis hereby informs all National Federations, players, parents, and concerned parties of the postponement of the two (2) African 14 & Under Circuit Tournaments, initially scheduled to take place in Algiers, Algeria, from 25 January to 1 February 2026.
This postponement is due to the very poor weather conditions and heavy rainfall affecting Algeria over the past several days, as well as official weather forecasts confirming that these conditions will continue until the beginning of February.
The African Tennis Confederation, which continuously strives to ensure the successful organization of the African 14&U Circuit, and following extensive consultations with all concerned parties, has granted its approval for the postponement of these tournaments, which will now be held as follows:
1st Tournament (initially scheduled from 25 to 28 January 2026)
2nd Tournament (initially scheduled from 29 January to 1 February 2026)
Under the current circumstances, this postponement has become unavoidable in order to ensure the safety of players, officials, and all participants, as well as the smooth conduct of the competition.
The National Federations of registered players travelling from other countries, as well as the players and their parents, are kindly requested to be understanding and to make the necessary arrangements to postpone their travel to Algeria, for the reasons stated above.
The Confederation of African Tennis thanks all concerned parties for their cooperation and understanding and will communicate any additional information if necessary.
