Morocco and Egypt qualify for the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals 2026

The 15th edition of the African Junior Team Championship (AJTC) for 14 and under boys and girls concluded successfully in Cairo, Egypt, after a week of high-level competition bringing together some of Africa’s best young talents.

Serving as the African Qualifying event for the ITF World Junior Tennis Competition, the championship confirmed the qualified teams for the 2026 World Finals, with two teams in the boys and two teams in the girls earning their places on the world stage.

In the boys’ event, Morocco claimed the continental title after a solid 3-0 victory over host nation Egypt in the final. Egypt finished as runners-up, while South Africa secured third place after defeating Tunisia 3-0 in the ranking match. Tunisia concluded the competition in fourth place. Cameroon finished fifth following a 3-0 win against Algeria, with Algeria ending sixth and Kenya seventh.

On the girls’ side, Egypt finished in first place with a total of four victories throughout the competition. Morocco also recorded four victories to secure second place. Tunisia finished third with three victories, ahead of South Africa in fourth place, also with three victories. Kenya ended the event in fifth place with one victory, while Botswana finished sixth.

At the end of the championship, Morocco and Egypt secured the qualification spots in the boys and girls competitions for the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals 2026.
