The 2026 edition of the Grade A African Masters 14&U came to a thrilling conclusion today at the hard courts of the Royal Tennis Club De Mohammedia. Five days of high-octane junior tennis culminated in a triumphant double victory for host nation Morocco, as Soulaimane Jamji and Dina Jaoid captured the Boys' and Girls' singles titles respectively.

The prestige of the finals and the closing ceremony was heavily underscored by the attendance of African tennis leadership. CAT President Jean-Claude Talon, CAT Vice Presidents and General Secretary were on site to observe the continent's rising talent. They were joined by Fayçal Laraïchi, President of the FRMT, to officially close the tournament and award the medals to the deserving champions.

Morocco’s Soulaimane Jamji delivered an authoritative campaign throughout the week. Placed in Group 1 during the initial round-robin phase, Jamji hit the ground running with dominant wins over Tunisia’s Mohamed Aziz Jabri (6-0, 6-1) and Algeria’s Adem Ali Moussa (6-2, 6-1). He sealed top spot in his group by rallying back against compatriot Reda Dhimni in a hard-fought three-set battle, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Advancing to the semi-finals, Jamji faced Group 2 runner-up Mouad Badache of Algeria. In a disciplined display, Jamji held his ground to secure a straight-sets victory, 6-2, 7-5, earning his place in the championship decider.

The final set up a compelling rematch against familiar foe Reda Dhimni, who had navigated past Adam Smihi in the semi-finals. In an intense final, Jamji produced his best tennis when it mattered most, navigating a mid-match patch to close out a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 victory and claim the coveted African Masters crown. Morocco completed a clean sweep of the podium with Adam Smihi defeating Mouad Badache (6-4, 6-2) to secure 3rd place.

In the Girls' draw, Morocco's Dina Jaoid matched her countryman's brilliance, executing a flawless tournament strategy. Competing in Group 1, Jadid recorded a clean sweep of victories: defeating Kenya’s Batsheba Abicha Ogamba (6-0, 6-2), battling past Yacout El Rhaffouli (3-6, 6-2, 6-3), and sealing the group’s top seed with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Tunisia’s Lina Srihi.

After receiving a walkover in her semi-final match against Nigeria’s Mofifunoluwa Atilola, Jaoid entered the final well-rested. Facing Tunisia’s Lina Srihi once again in the championship match, Jadid demonstrated superior tactical composure under pressure, prevailing 7-5, 6-2 to seal the title without dropping a match all week. Zimbabwe’s Ruvarashe Makunike rounded out the podium, claiming 3rd place.
