In Memory of our Esteemed Friend and Colleague, President “Dayo”

Exactly one year ago, on 2 October 2025, we received with profound sadness the news of the passing of Mr. Ifedayo Olaloye AKINDOJU, fondly known as President “Dayo.”

A year has passed, yet his memory remains deeply rooted within us.

We remember his smile, his warmth, his infectious energy, his passion for tennis, and above all, the many moments shared in service to African tennis.

We recall the meetings, the travels, the conversations—sometimes serious, often lively—and all those simple moments that, over time, become our most cherished memories.

Dayo was not merely a committed leader and a dedicated colleague. Above all, he was a friend, a companion on our journey, and an invaluable member of the great African tennis family.

His dedication, his vision, and his commitment to the development of tennis across our Continent have left an indelible mark. Yet, beyond his formal responsibilities and achievements, it is the man, his generosity, and the joyous times spent together that we choose to carry in our hearts.

Today, as we celebrate his life and honor his memory one year on, our heartfelt thoughts remain with his family, his loved ones, and the entire tennis community of Nigeria and Africa.

Dear Dayo, time passes, but true memories never fade. We miss you, but your kindness, your friendship, and your life's work continue to live on among us.

Rest in peace, our dear friend. You will forever remain in our hearts, and your legacy will endure on the courts of Africa.
