The 2025 Davis Cup Africa Group IV event, hosted by the Federação Angolana de Ténis, concluded in Luanda with Côte d’Ivoire and Burundi securing their spots in the Africa Group III for the 2026 season while Gabon and Mauritius were relegated to Group V. The competition took place from 9 to 14 June 2025 at the Academia de Ténis Kikuxi Villas Club and featured eight nations: Angola, Burundi, Congo DR, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, and Mauritius.
The pool stage saw Ghana topping group A with three consecutive victories over Mauritius, Congo DR, and Angola. Ghana opened with a 3-0 win over Mauritius. Samuel Agbesi Osei Antwi defeated Daniel Bazu 6-4, 6-1, followed by 6-2, 6-2 win from Isaac Nortey over Rushil Seewoosurrun. The doubles team of Nortey and Abubakari Yakubu Lea sealed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-7(5), 6-3 victory over Samuel Ava and Anthony Kwok Yin Siong Yen. On the second day, Ghana defeated Congo DR 3-0. Antwi overcame Christian Saidi 6-1, 7-4, Nortey followed with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Emmanuel Bushamuka, and the pair of Rafael Dowouna and Yakubu-Lea took the doubles 7-6(5), 7-5. Ghana completed the group stage with a 2-1 win against the hosts Angola. Antwi beat Joelson Paulino 6-2, 6-0, and Nortey dispatched Emerson Pedro 6-2, 6-1. However, Angola took the doubles thanks to Fernando Andre and Daniel Domingos, who beat Dowouna and Yakubu-Lea 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Congo DR finished second in Pool A after two wins. Against Angola, Christian Saidi secured the first point with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Emerson Pedro. Emmanuel Bushamuka followed with a comeback win over Daniel Domingos 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, and the doubles pair Bushamuka and Ikondo Moke triumphed 6-3, 6-4 over Andre and Pedro. Congo DR confirmed its place in the promotion play-offs by defeating Mauritius 3-0. Saidi rallied past Daniel Bazu 6-7(2), 7-5, 6-2, Bushamuka overwhelmed Seewoosurrun 6-3, 6-0, and the doubles team of Moke and Kumase clinched the third match 5-7, 6-4, 6-1. Angola ended third in the group, claiming a 2-0 win over Mauritius, who finished last. Fernando Andre defeated Herve Antchandie 6-1, 6-1, and Daniel Domingos followed with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Christopher Koumba.
In Pool B, Côte d’Ivoire led by Eliakim Coulibaly swept all three of its matches against Gabon, Burundi, and Kenya to finish first. In the opening match, Côte d’Ivoire secured a 3-0 victory over Gabon. Abdoul Aziz Bationo came back to beat Herve Antchandie 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, Coulibaly dominated Christopher Koumba 6-0, 6-0, and the duo of Coulibaly and Koffi wrapped up with a 6-1, 6-4 win. Côte d’Ivoire then faced Burundi, where Allan Gatoto gave Burundi the lead with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Bationo. Coulibaly leveled the score with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Guy Iradukunda, and the Ivorian pair of Bationo and Coulibaly sealed the tie 6-3, 7-5 over Gatoto and Iradukunda. On the final day, Côte d’Ivoire completed the group stage with a 3-0 win against Kenya. Bationo defeated Kael Shah 6-2, 6-1, Coulibaly defeated Ismael Mzai 6-1, 6-0, and the duo of Hoimian and Koffi added a third win 6-1, 7-6(3) against Oduor and Sagala.
Burundi took second place in Pool B with two wins. They opened their campaign with a strong 3-0 performance against Kenya. Gatoto beat Albert Njogu 6-2, 6-2, Iradukunda defeated Kael Shah 7-5, 6-1, and the doubles team of Iradukunda and Mohamed secured a 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-3 win over Mzai and Oduor. In their final group match, Burundi defeated Gabon 3-0 to seal their spot in the promotional play-offs. Gatoto overpowered Rene Antchandie 6-0, 6-1, Iradukunda defeated Koumba 6-2, 6-3, and the pair Gatoto and Mohamed won the doubles 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Kenya finished third in Pool B with a 3-0 victory over Gabon. Kael Shah beat Antchandie 6-2, 6-2, Mzai downed Koumba 6-3, 6-0, and the pair Mzai/Shah completed the sweep 6-2, 6-2.
In the promotion play-offs, Burundi overcame Ghana 2-1. Allan Gatoto lost to Samuel Antwi 6-2, 3-6, 2-6, but Guy Iradukunda leveled the tie with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Isaac Nortey. The decisive doubles match went to Burundi, with Gatoto and Iradukunda defeating Antwi and Nortey 6-4, 6-3 to clinch promotion. In the other play-off, Côte d’Ivoire booked their ticket to Group III with a 2-0 win over Congo DR. Bationo beat Christian Saidi 6-4, 6-1, and Coulibaly secured promotion with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Bushamuka.
In the relegation play-offs, Angola and Kenya preserved their Group IV status for 2026. Angola defeated Gabon 2-0, and Kenya overcame Mauritius 2-1. As a result, Gabon and Mauritius were relegated to Davis Cup Africa Group V.
