He underlined the importance of digital transformation, including the acquisition of a modern competition management system and the planned launch of the first official CAT mobile application in 2026. The President also confirmed progress in the CAT rebranding process, with the launch of the new visual identity in 2026 and a consultation on the future name of the organisation. He concluded by calling for unity and collective commitment to strengthen African tennis.

The Secretary General then presented the key achievements of 2024. A record 145 ITF Junior tournaments were organised across the continent, alongside 203 professional tournaments with more than USD 5 million in prize money. The AGM also received the CAT activity report for 2024, highlighting the successful organisation of nearly 25 major projects, including African championships, circuits, team competitions and international tours.

As part of the rebranding process, a formal consultation was held on the new name of the organisation, with a majority of National Federations expressing their preference for the name « Tennis Africa ».

The ITF Executive Director of Development Mr. Luca Santilli and the Development Officers reaffirmed the central role of development within the ITF 2024+4 Strategy and presented updates on participation, education, performance, facilities and events across Africa. The General Assembly approved several statutory resolutions, including an amendment to Article 14.2.1 of the CAT Constitution regarding the timing of AGMs, the admission of the South Sudan Lawn Tennis Association as a CAT member with effect from 1 January 2026. Concerning the request from the Sudan Lawn Tennis Association, the General Assembly approved, in principle, the waiver of outstanding membership fee arrears on humanitarian grounds and delegated full authority to the CAT Executive Committee to determine the specific years and amounts to be waived, define any instalment or payment plan, set all implementation modalities, and ensure that the final decision remains fair, consistent with CAT policies and past practice, preserves CAT’s financial integrity, and is reported to the next AGM. The Assembly also authorised the Executive Committee to organise the election process to fill the vacant position of President of Zone II.

The sole CAT Award for Services to African Tennis for 2025 was awarded posthumously to the late Ifedayo Akindoju. The AGM concluded with a collective commitment to continue building a strong and united African tennis community and to ensure the sustained growth and success of the sport across the continent.
