The ITF/CAT West and Central African Zonal Championships 2026 were staged in Lomé, Togo, with the individual competitions taking place from 15 to 18 January 2026, followed by the team events held from 19 to 23 January 2026.
The championships were organised by the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) in partnership with the International Tennis Federation and the Fédération Togolaise de Tennis. Ten national federations were represented: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and host nation Togo. The event brought together 87 players and 18 coaches.
Cameroon delivered notable performances in the individual events, particularly in the 14 & Under Boys’ Singles, where Olive Victoire Divine Nkolo claimed the title ahead of Togo’s Kossi Tsevi Aziato, while fellow Cameroonian Prince Jireh Moukam secured third place. In the 14 & Under Girls’ Singles, Olive Gerard Nguimbis Ewala of Cameroon finished first, followed by Nigeria’s Mofifunoluwa Atilola, with Benin’s Gisele Honfoga placing third.
In the doubles competitions, Cameroon captured the 14 & Under Boys’ Doubles title thanks to the duo of Olive Victoire Divine Nkolo and Prince Jireh Moukam, while Benin’s Juvenal Bebo and Ivan Alowakinnou finished as runners-up. The 14 & Under Girls’ Doubles crown went to Nigeria’s Mofifunoluwa Atilola and Emmanuela Ishaku Kwange, with Cameroon’s Olive Gerard Nguimbis Ewala and Paola Leudeu Hapi Tameghe ending the event in second place.
In the 16 & Under category, Mali’s Albechir Diarra won the Boys’ Singles title, followed by Nigeria’s Chukwudubem Amasiani and Seyi Ebenezer Ogunsakin. The 16 & Under Girls’ Singles saw Nigeria’s Goodnews Aina take first place, ahead of Togo’s Winner Gakpo and Kokoegan Aziadapou.
The team competitions highlighted strong consistency across the age groups. Cameroon finished first in the 14 & Under Boys’ team standings, ahead of Togo and Benin. Nigeria topped the 14 & Under Girls’ team event, followed by Cameroon and Benin. In the 16 & Under Boys’ teams, Nigeria claimed first place, with Mali and Ghana finishing second and third respectively. Togo secured the top position in the 16 & Under Girls’ team rankings, ahead of Benin and Nigeria.
Based on its overall performances in both the individual and team competitions, Cameroon was awarded the Best Nation Trophy of the championships, finishing ahead of Nigeria in second place and host nation Togo in third.
