ITF Officiating Officers in Africa

Iain Smith and Damien Dumusois, the two Officiating Officers in Africa organised on Friday 18^th December 2020 a “Webinar” remote conference for the attention of the Heads of Officials within the various African National Tennis Federations as well as to Certified African officials. About forty officials participated in this online conference which was wonderfully moderated by Messrs. Iain Smith and Damien Dumusois and which was marked by an interesting intervention by Mr. Nico Helwerth - GER on the theme "Social Media and Officiating ”as well as an intervention by Mr. Manuel Absolu - FRA on his visit to Dakar in view of training Senegalese Umpires. Note that Senegal will be the host country for the next Youth Olympic Games, initially scheduled for 2022 and finally postponed to 2026 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the start of this Conference, Mr. Tarak Cherif, President of the CAT, pronounced a welcome message to all the participants. Mr. Hichem Riani, CAT General Manager, also took the floor to wish to all participants success for this conference which he followed until its end.
