The large African and Djiboutian Tennis Family have learned with great sadness the death of the Dean of the Presidents of the Tennis Federations of African countries:

Mr. Houmed who passed away on Monday 31st May 2021 surrounded by his family, has been a great figure in Djiboutian Tennis. He chaired the Djiboutian Tennis Federation (FDT) for more than three decades until January 2021 to join the Djiboutian National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSD) to be named its Honorary President. He has been Vice President of the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) and President of the Eastern African Region from 2003 to 2011.

Late Mohamed Houmed Houssein was a very respectful, humble, jovial and very invested personality in all the responsibilities he fulfilled both within the FDT and the CAT by creating the Gbadoé Tennis Center in Djibouti which contributed enormously to the Development of tennis among young Djiboutian while launching a series of International Tournaments in Djibouti part of the Women's Professional Circuit.

 

 

 

In this painful circumstance, Mr. Tarak Cherif, President of the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) as well as all Members of the CAT Executive Committee and Staff present to all his family touched by this mourning their sincere condolences by praying to God the whole Powerful to Grant him his infinite Mercy and to welcome him in his eternal Paradise.
