Mr. Jean-Claude Talon, CAT President, makes his first official visit to Tunisia

 

Mr. Talon was received by the Tunisian Ministers of Youth & Sports and Foreign Affairs & Cooperation

Mr. Jean-Claude Talon, new President of the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT), elected in Kenya on 27 October made his first official visit from 18 to 20 November 2023 to Tunisia, the country which hosts the CAT Headquarters.

Mr Talon who was welcomed by the outgoing President Mr. Tarak Chérif had a fairly busy schedule during his stay in Tunisia.

The CAT President with Mister Minister of Youth and Sports  

Mr. Jean-Claude Talon, President of the Confederation of African Tennis met on Monday 20 November Mr. Kamel Deguiche, Tunisian Minister of Youth and Sports at the headquarters of his Ministry. Mr. Deguiche, who congratulated Mr. Talon as well as all the new Members elected to the CAT Executive Committee, raised the support of his Ministry for the CAT as well as the means to continue to develop cooperation between the two institutions while hailing the roles played by the CAT in its support of young African athletes, emphasizing Tunisia's desire to continue to build fruitful cooperation with the CAT as well as to develop tennis infrastructure by encouraging investments in this area. For his part, Mr. Jean-Claude Talon thanked the Minister for all the support that the Tunisian Government provides as host country of the CAT headquarters and expressed his desire to continue working to extend and support cooperation between the CAT and Tunisia in the field of tennis and to develop its tennis infrastructures.

Mr. Talon's meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports took place in the presence of Mr. Tarak Chérif, outgoing CAT President and Mrs. Salma Mouelhi-Guizani, President of the TTF.

The CAT President welcomed by Mr. Nabil Ammar, Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation

Mr. Jean-Claude Talon, President of the Confederation of African Tennis met on Monday 20 November Mr. Nabil Ammar, Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation at the headquarters of his Ministry.

During this visit, Mr. Talon was accompanied by Mr Tarak Chérif, outgoing CAT President and Mrs. Salma Mouelhi-Guizani, President of the TTF.

The CAT President presented to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation the important programs and projects that CAT intends to implement in Tunisia while reiterating his thanks to the Tunisian Government for its support. For his part, the Tunisian Minister thanked and congratulated the new CAT President for his election, while promising to continue to support and to continue cooperation with the CAT as in the time of Mr Chérif.

Visit to the African Training Center in Sousse

Mr. Jean Claude Talon traveled on Sunday 19 November to Sousse where the African Tennis Training Center is located, in the company of Mrs. Salma Mouelhi-Guizani, President of the Tunisian Tennis Federation & Member of the ITF Board of Directors and Mr. Tarak Chérif, outgoing CAT President. Mr. Talon had the opportunity to visit the magnificent facilities of this center as well as the accommodation, study and catering places for young African talents before attending a training session and meeting its entire administrative and technical staff. Mr. Talon, who greatly appreciated the conditions in which the young elite of African tennis evolve, declared that this Center represents a great achievement and a source of pride for the Continent.
