The meeting of the Development Committee of the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT), chaired by Mr. Aziz Laarraf, Vice President of CAT and President of the North African Region (Zone I), took place in Mohammedia, Morocco, on November 15 and 16, 2024. This gathering was honored by the presence and active participation of Mr. Jean-Claude Talon, President of CAT, and Mr. Germain Ickonga Akindou, Vice President of CAT and President of the Central African Region (Zone III). While most members attended the meeting in person, others participated virtually.

The first meeting was held over two days in the conference room of the Royal Golf Club in Mohammedia:

Friday, 15 November 2024, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM 

Saturday, 16 November 2024, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM 

After welcome messages from the Presidents of CAT and the Development Committee, all agenda items were thoroughly discussed, resulting in recommendations that will be submitted to the CAT Executive Committee for review and final approval. 

Key topics addressed and discussed included:

1. The calendar of major events in Africa for 2025.

2. Formats for the 2025 zonal junior competitions.

3. Updates to specific articles in the 2025 U14 African Circuit Rules & Regulations.

4. Formats and selection criteria for the 2025 junior team finals.

5. Proposals for the 2025 U16 African Individual Championship.

6. The U12 team competition finals.

7. The African Training Center.

8. Coach and official training programs in Africa.

9. The development program and budget for Africa in 2025.

The meeting, conducted in an excellent atmosphere, was marked by outstanding contributions and fruitful proposals from all members on every topic discussed. Mr. Jean-Claude Talon, CAT President, extended his gratitude to the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation for hosting this meeting in Morocco. He also commended Mr. Aziz Laarraf, Chair of the Development Committee, all the members, and the CAT staff for their efforts in making this meeting a success.
